EMPLOYMENT OFF BASE · THE TECHNICAL ARM OF AVF TEAM 1

Protecting the time of people leaving the military

A research and workforce project for separating service members and military spouses, and for the institutions that train them.

AVF Team 1 is the nonprofit behind this work. Employment Off Base is its technical arm and builds the tools.

Transition is a narrow window. Most people leaving service do not stay near the installation they leave, and most arrive somewhere new with a deadline, a family, and a short list of options they had no way to compare. Delays at that point are not an inconvenience. They compound into financial instability, housing loss, and worse.

We build the parts of that decision that nobody else has assembled: what your service translates into, what training closes the gap, what it costs, and how long it takes.

For colleges and workforce boards

No federal dataset collects non-credit workforce programs. IPEDS covers credit completions. College Scorecard covers Title IV. The continuing education catalogue that would actually help a service member arriving in your area is invisible to both.

We are assembling that inventory, free to use and free to the institution.
